As a dietician, I always discourage eating out in restaurants or eating out because restaurant food is high in calories, which leads to excess calories being consumed over the daily requirement very easily, thus a person gains weight easily. And excess weight increases body fat along with other health risks. Even a healthy person can be at risk by eating calorie rich foods on a regular basis.
Besides, excess weight especially excess body fat causes a lot of loss of beauty of a person which also lowers a person's self-confidence. So those who want to stay fit and avoid the problem of unwanted weight gain should always eat in moderation.
So do not eat at all in the restaurant?
Yes, if you have to eat for a very special occasion, then choose light food such as soup, salad items. Besides, if you select steamed or baked protein items, you will get relatively less calories.
Avoid carb rich items, sweets, dessert items and soda drinks.
