However, after seeing the harsh weather, many people have given up standing in the sun and leaving the house. And for this reason, it is very important to keep in mind that vitamin D deficiency can occur in the body.
According to experts, many people are deficient in vitamin D in summer countries like ours. And the main reason is that many people do not go out in the sun for fear of heat. As a result, the body does not get a chance to produce vitamin D.
Now the question is, should you stand in the sun at all during the heat of summer? When and how long to stand? Let's find out the answers to these urgent questions from Dr. Rudrajit Pal, an eminent medical specialist at Amri Hospital, Kolkata .
1. Deficiency of vitamin D can cause anxiety
The body needs 1000 to 1200 IU of vitamin D per day. Anything less than this increases the risk of multiple complex problems. In that case, these few symptoms may appear in the body -
1. Bone pain
2. Muscle pain
3. Fatigue all day
4. Depression etc.
So as if there are three types of deficiency of vitamin D in the body should be eliminated. Otherwise multiple complications including osteoporosis, muscle problems can follow.
2. Should you stand in the sun in summer?
According to Dr. Pal, to get vitamin D, it is usually said to stand in the sun between 12 noon and 3 pm. However, in the current scorching condition, the weather office is repeatedly forbidding to go out in the sun. Because in such a situation , the risk of heat stroke , heat exhaustion increases. So it is better to go out in the sun less or not at all. But you can go out if the sun falls a bit. Vitamin deficiency will be solved even if it is small.
3. Be careful in the sun
If you want to stand in the sun alone, you can stand in the sun during the fall. In that case, you can stand in the sun for 30 to 40 minutes after 5 pm. At this time, the sun shines down a lot. So you can easily sunbathe in the field or on the roof. In this case, try to keep the arms and legs open as much as possible. Only then will you get vitamin D. Otherwise standing in the sun day after day will be of no use. Rather, the entire bed will go into the water.
4. Make up for the deficiency from food
If you don't want to step outside the house this summer, you have to make up for vitamin D deficiency from food. In that case, Dr. Rudrajit Pal suggested to include these few foods in the daily diet. That list includes-
1. Dairy products like milk, curd and chickpeas
2. Egg
3. Fish
4. Fish oil etc.
So try to eat these foods daily. Hopefully that will solve the problem.
5. Supplements may also be needed
Many times it is not possible to meet the deficiency of this vitamin even by standing in the sun or eating food. In this case, vitamin D supplements must be taken if the problem of bone loss increases, if you suffer from extreme fatigue and after surgery. In this case, if you take this medicine regularly for a few days, you can easily get rid of the problem caused by the deficiency of this vitamin.
