To make Musur Dal Polao you will need:
1. 300 grams of Dehradun rice.
2. 150 grams of lentils.
3. 2 large onion slices.
4. 2 chopped tomatoes.
5. 4-5 large cardamoms.
6. 4-5 cloves.
7. 2-3 dry chillies.
8. 1 spoon of cumin.
9. 2 bay leaves
10. 1 tsp turmeric powder.
11. 3 spoons of ginger paste.
12. 2 cups of coconut milk.
13. 1 cup Beresta.
14. Salt to taste.
15. amount of ghee.
How to make Lentil Polao:
Before cooking, soak the rice and dal in separate bowls for 15-20 minutes and drain the water well before cooking. Heat a non-stick pan with ghee and stir one by one bay leaves, cumin seeds, cloves, cardamom, dried chillies, ginger paste, onion, little turmeric powder and salt.
Then mix well with drained dal and cook for 7-8 minutes. Now mix it with coconut milk and if necessary with warm water, cover it and keep it for five minutes. Then reduce the heat and cover with rice, sugar, salt and pepper. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally and adding warm water if necessary.
When it is cooked, spread ghee on top before taking it out and serve it nicely.
