How to keep yourself healthy in this intense heat? Due to the sudden increase in the heat level, people's life is miserable. For several weeks, intense fires have been going on in different parts of the country. Meanwhile, the highest temperature in the country on April 26 in the capital Dhaka broke the record of the last 26 years at 40.7 degrees Celsius.
This April, the maximum day temperature increased from 3.9 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 7.7 degrees Celsius. This information is known from the temperature index recorded from April 1-26 by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
All of a sudden people of different ages including children and old people became sick due to extreme heat. If not careful at this time, there is a possibility of problems like dehydration-indigestion or heatstroke. In this situation, special attention should be paid to the health of everyone. Now, according to BBC Bengal's report, the ways to stay healthy in summer have been highlighted.
Ways to stay healthy in intense heat:
Heat management:
Normally, the internal temperature of the human body is around 37 degrees Celsius. The cooling temperature for this is between 20-27 degrees Celsius. If the humidity in the air is within 60 degrees Celsius then it is within the tolerance limit of the body. If the temperature and humidity in the air are higher than this, then the body cannot tolerate it. Just then various problems arise including discomfort.
If the temperature is more than 41 degrees Celsius, the risk of heat stroke increases in people. So heat management is key during summer. Measures should be taken to reduce the heat during this time.
Consuming water and water-based food:
To prevent dehydration during summer, a lot of water and water-based food should be taken. Drinks such as water, saline, fruit juice, syrups and cans provide the necessary moisture to the body. Watery vegetables and fruits can also be consumed. Like watermelon, pineapple, grapefruit, apple. By eating more vegetables, digestion is done properly. This reduces body discomfort. According to experts, dehydration is very important. Because dehydration can lead to strokes.
Stay away from sunlight:
It is better not to go directly to the sun or avoid excessive work during the time of day when the temperature is high. In our country, the temperature of the sun is intense from 11 am to 3 pm. At this time, if you want to go in the sun, you should use umbrella, hat and shoes. And use sunglasses to keep your eyes healthy and definitely keep a bottle of water with you.
Say no to fried and junk food:
It is better not to eat fried or junk food in hot weather. Such food increases body temperature. It is also high in calories, sodium and saturated fat. In addition to high temperature in the body, these foods also have the risk of indigestion.
Keeping the living space cool:
In order to keep the living space or the room cool, air should be provided in the room. There is no problem if there is less light in the room during the day, it will rather keep the room cold. It is better to have a tree inside the house. Trees absorb heat. If the floor of the room is paved then wipe it every now and then, it will keep the room cool.
Also, if someone has breathing problems (asphyxia), chest pain, weakness, dizziness or sudden dizziness in severe heat, consult a doctor immediately without delay.
