Baltra is an uninhabited island. It is a special island in the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador. The Malapogos archipelago consists of 13 islands near Ecuador in South America. And one of these 13 islands is Baltra.
Baltra is completely different from the other 12 islands here, strange and mysterious. Being a tropical island, there is a lot of rain in this island. But the strange thing is that not a single drop of rain falls in Baltra! For some mysterious reason, the rain falls on the other side of Baltra.
After crossing half of the Baltra, the raindrops do not move an inch. Every island here has seals, iguanas, giant tortoises, chameleons and rare species of birds. Except for Baltra only.
Baltra Island has no animals, plants or insects. Between Baltra and the neighboring island of Santa Cruz is a channel three feet deep and several feet wide. During World War II, the US government established air bases on some of the outermost islands of the Galapagos Islands. Francis Wanner was the officer in charge here.
During his stay in these islands, he faced various strange events and experiences. When they were published in various newspapers later, there was a storm of surprise. He wrote, 'I encountered the biggest surprises of my life when I went to Baltra Island.
Not one, not two, one after the other, countless incredible things happened in front of my eyes. Stunned in amazement, I just stared at it, unable to find any rational answer or explanation. An entirely different kind of force is at work within the island. Under the influence of which these mysterious and incredible events happened one after another. A sailor's or explorer's compass behaves abnormally when it comes to Baltra. The compass, always pointing north, stands still here for some time. The directional spindle rotates as desired or points in the opposite direction.
Another mystery is that the compass behaves so strangely even when the plane is over Baltra Island. Once you cross the island again, everything is fine. Another amazing aspect of Baltra is that as soon as one steps into Baltra, one's head becomes very light. The strange feeling of getting lost in an unknown unknown place overwhelms the mind.
If you stay on this island for a long time, after leaving the island, that amazing feeling remains for some time. Later, however, it slowly got better. There are no trees or animals on the strange island of Baltra. No animals even want to come to this island. It is seen that the animals are running around the edge of the neighboring island of Santa Cruz, avoiding Baltra. What's more, flying birds are flying back to Baltra. It seems as if they are hitting a wall.
No acceptable explanation for the island's mystery has been found so far. Of course, Erich von Däniken and his followers have, as usual, drawn so-called extraterrestrials into their naturalistic view. But scientists have not been able to solve this mystery till date. Today the world has come a long way in terms of technology. Scientists may one day reveal the solution to these mysteries to people. We can only hope so.
